New Jones Coffee Location Open in South Pasadena

On March 14, Jones Coffee Roasters soft-opened our third and long-awaited location at 1006 Mission Street in South Pasadena, with limited hours. Occupying the same space as the iconic Buster’s coffeehouse that served the city for 30 years prior, we hope to preserve the charm and nostalgia of the rustic two-story building that presides on the corner of Mission and Meridian.

As with the other two Jones Coffee locations in Pasadena, the new store will feature live music, pastries from Cake Monkey, and grab-and-go sandwiches and salads from Hope Cafe. Fosselman's ice cream will return to the menu as well—another local family business we’ve known for generations.

For now, the store is open for limited hours in order to ensure proper training and quality service. By late March, we will be open 15 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Chuck Jones always knew he wanted to integrate his business into the close-knit community. Having lived in the city for many years and having raised his children in the school districts, this seems like the perfect opportunity.

“Buster’s was always the quintessential neighborhood coffeehouse, the heart of South Pasadena,” says Chuck. “It began as a blank canvas and the customers really made it into their place, which is what a coffeehouse should be—a reflection of the neighborhood and its values.”

Chuck and Jones Coffee hope to bring back that tradition, while serving the neighborhood a great cup of coffee.
