Triple Shot is a modern jazz trio based in Pasadena, performing improvisations and original compositions. They are rooted in the traditions of jazz and blues, with a subtle influence of gospel annd funk. The group consists of Morgan Jones on piano, Scott Worthington on bass, and Marcelo Bucater on drums. Early arrival is recommended to reserve seating.

The Coffee Shop Jazz Trio

The Coffee Shop Jazz Trio, led by the legendary pianist Matt Politano, presents modern jazz and Latin fusion every Tuesday morning, starting at 8:30 AM. The core group includes Blake White on stand-up bass and Mark Ferber on drums. Throughout the year, guest musicians join the trio for special performances. Early arrival is highly recommended to reserve seating.

Jones House Band

The Jones House Band is a lively trio of highly talented musicians with years of experience in orchestral performances, studio production, and commercial music production. The family-friendly entertainment features a diverse selection of music, including pop songs, movie scores, orchestral sounds, and original compositions made with cellos, guitars, and rich vocals. This performance coincides with the South Pasadena Farmers Market, hosted adjacent to the cafe.

A lover of jazz from all periods, pianist Larry Garf is particularly captivated by the origins of the genre. His eclectic repertoire includes Ragtime, Early Jazz and Blues, Standards (such as George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and others), as well as beloved Beatles songs and other musical gems.

Accordion enthusiast, artist, and performer Stanley Oropesa, a local Pasadena gentleman, is the resident accordionist at Jones Coffee Roasters. He performs a wide range of genres and styles, including classical accordion (Bach, Chopin, Handel, and others), original compositions, Irish music, ragtime, pop, and film scores. His performances are sure to provide a fun experience for friends and family alike.

The homegrown South Pasadena musicians' group is known for their classic jazz sound and musical flare. With over 5 years of experience performing at Jones Coffee Roasters on Raymond Avenue in Pasadena, this jazz group is beloved by the community and visiting guests. Guest musicians from both South Pasadena and the wider Pasadena area have also participated with the group.

The Gold Line Jazz Collective is led by the talented pianist Hank Mehren, who is well-known locally and internationally for his incredible musical abilities. This jazz collective expands and contracts throughout the year, integrating local talent from South Pasadena, Pasadena, and the greater Los Angeles area. The core group consists of piano, guitar, upright bass, and drums, creating an uplifting and eclectic performance that guests are sure to enjoy.

Barb Catlin and Ken Rosser’s performances have garnered local and national recognition with combined experience in touring, commercial projects, movie features, TV production, and artist albums. Their sets at Jones Coffee Roasters feature an eclectic selection of jazz by some of their favorite composers - Carla Bley, Billy Strayhorn, Steve Swallow, and Wayne Shorter, in addition to their original compositions. With their years of collaboration as a duo, they have established a tight musical bond that embraces the unexpected. Both Barb and Ken hold positions as professors at the California Institute of Technology, Pomona College, Cal State Los Angeles, and the Musicians Institute.
